I found that optimists say things will get better even when things keep getting worse.
The pessimists actually bitch about it and then do something to make it better.
In reality the optimists knows the pessimist will fix it. Did you ever see a happy employee? hahahaha
Exactly! If the glass is in a vacuum, there is nothing besides the liquid in the glass. So, therefore, it has to be either half full or half empty. I like to think of it as a a sip less than half full, if that makes any sense at all...

Wrong its H20 so its two hydrogen units for each oxygen unit.

@53805 (Anonymous):
Water is, infact, H2O. That is to say, when 2 hydrogen atoms bond with 1 oxygen atom, it makes water.
Air is not Oxygen. Air is actually composed of 78% nitrogen and 21% Oxygen with the remaining 1% comprised of various gases.

If the cup were capped at room temperature, the pressure would be approx 155 torr O2, 17 torr H2O, and 588 torr N2

The OP's point is still, of course, valid anyway.

OK. You're an optimist and I'm a pessimist. We are in a desert for 3 days. We come up to the full glass.
I get the water and you can have the air. :-P

How are we so sure that the glass has water in it?

I always enjoy water in absolute vacuum. Not because I enjoy it, just so that I can be a thorough pessimist.

Actually, a lot of the space a gas takes up is void. The gas particles are pretty far apart.
