Not always. I often have to be sent home or miss school due to the cramps. Though I don't have a temper when I'm PMSing/on my period, I do snap at people alittle more then I would like and get annoyed easily but I try not to be rude and hold comments back. But everyone is different with their periods, it's wrong to judge every girls period by your own.

TOO TRUE! For me, it only hurts the first day because I get killer cramps. I just take a Tylenol and it's a-okay. I get a *bit* moody, but it's similar to being tired. Girls play it up too much just to get stuff. Even my friends and sisters don't complain about it.

Yeah I get pretty bad cramps and that causes me to feel tired and lazy. And I must admit I do get annoyed more than I would without my period, but I can hold it in. I don't snap and I'm not mean, but in my head I'm like "okay just shut up", lol.

Well, I don't use it as an excuse at all. I'd rather not let everyone know I'm on my period. But I do get a lot more bitchy on my period, and my mom can tell anyway. When I was first getting it though, I was so much worse. People would end up crying, and once I had to be held down by my mom's friend to be controled o.o But I can control myself much more now, and I try my best to hold back rude remarks but I just scream when people can't leave me alone.

And just by that conversation above me, you guys should be able to understand that it's different for every woman. To disparage other girls' pain and say "most" don't have certain problems isn't fair to the ones who do. That week is hell for me.

It's actually stated in AP Psychology text books that females tend to overplay PMS symptoms because it is generally accepted by society as an excuse for substandard work performance. While some girls probably do have shit periods, most aren't THAT bad emotionally. In fact, during your period is not when the mood swings should occur.

that's interesting! ya, I think I heard somewhere that you should show symptoms in the days before your actual period, is that right? it's so annoying, because all my friends get theirs at the same time, so school gets that much more dramatic. makes me want to smack 'em and tell them to suck it up, haha. nothing like friendship. :D

I honestly hate my period to death. On some periods (like, once every like, 3 months) I have to go to the bathroom every 2 seconds. I pee only a little, don't have to anymore, and then the next 2 seconds it feels like I'm gonna wet my pants. Then I go again and it's just like before. >:C WHAT. THE. HELL.

PMS isn't a bad thing. Without PMS, female uteruses, as opposed to male uteruses (obviously), would crowd with empty eggs, and that sounds much more painful than any other symptom of having your period.
