Nah, it's fine unless you can't handle Eddie Izzard in a nice dress.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I made the mistake of buying milk tea while traveling in Mongolia. It turns out that Mongolians like their milk tea salty, not sugary. I was horrified at the taste but my Mongolian friends love it.
by IndependentFew62344 weeks ago
I just threw up in my mouth
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I also threw up in his mouth.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I observed the interaction
by Pristine-Archer4 weeks ago
Hi Himeno-san
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I call it Hot Ham Water.
by Ok-Today4 weeks ago
Save money, use hot dogs for water flavouring instead
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Mmmm, watery, with a smack of ham!
by Lacey894 weeks ago
Dressed Tequila shots!!!
by felicity524 weeks ago
Lmao
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I mean, you're not wrong.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Does a margarita with a salt rim count?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I'll allow it
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I'll consume it
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I'll mix it
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Can you send me one?
by Competitive_Fan82924 weeks ago
Ever heard of gatorade?
by Ryanruecker4 weeks ago
It's got electrolytes.
by Gertrudegaylord4 weeks ago
It has what plants crave
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
You ever think of running for president?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
But why is it what plants crave?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Because it has electrolytes
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
What are electrolytes?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
They're what plants crave
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
And sodium
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I read somewhere that if Gatorade tastes salty, then you need the electrolytes/sodium/etc. If it tastes sweet, then you don't. No idea if that's accurate but I find it interesting because it does taste differently to me at times.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I think it's more just relative to what you normally drink. If you drink soda, gatorade will taste salty, but if you drink normal water it will taste sweet.
by Vitakunde4 weeks ago
Makes more sense the other way around
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Tastes like pure sugar
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
My mom loves to drink a billion cube dissolved in a cup of hot water. She thinks we are all crazy for not liking it.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
That's a lot of cubes
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Better than a bullion cube.
by erniehaag4 weeks ago
Is this a brand name joke?
by Sengermarion4 weeks ago
Bullion is precious metals. Bouillon is soup.
by erniehaag4 weeks ago
maybe it's a billionaire's cube
by Ok_Cod4 weeks ago
Actually it's just one billion cube.
by ambrosejast4 weeks ago
Isn't this just broth?
by Kindly-Being30664 weeks ago
Yes. Literally its a cube of insert animal or vegetable stock.... so it's just broth. Idk how their family doesnt like it or thinks they are weird for it.
by Pristine-Archer4 weeks ago
American culture doesn't normalize drinking straight broth like a beverage so I guess I can sort of see why someone might side eye it. But really, it's not that strange, and for anyone to say they don't like it is weird. You don't like any soup base ever? Alright.
by Kindly-Being30664 weeks ago
Those old timey coffee vending machines that drop the cup that doesn't always land upright often had an option for this beverage.
by Pleasant_Bet4 weeks ago
My husband loves Clamato juice
by reynoldselenora4 weeks ago
This is what I came to add, Clamato is salty and I crave it sometimes.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
i love drinking v8 with beer salt (its lime flavored salt, i'm not sure if it's a us wide thing or south west) but it's SO good
by Makenzie514 weeks ago
Add a beer and you basically have a michelada
by bednarhaleigh4 weeks ago
Check the label next time you see a soda lol
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Hm there's a difference between containing sodium and tasting salty. Soda does not taste salty!
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Or just frustrated with life. /s
by Upstairs_Text_40484 weeks ago
So if you had to put soda in one category would you put it in salty? Or sweet? Because I think there are plenty of foods that are primarily salty in the way soda is primarily sweet
by Boganshanelle4 weeks ago
Things can be overly salty and sweet at the same time. Beer, bread, soda, chocolate. Just because it tastes one way doesn't mean you aren't getting way to much of the other at the same time.
by Norval934 weeks ago
Sure, not denying that food can have a lot of salt and sugar in it. But that doesn't mean that soda falls dead even between sweet and salty. It's clearly more noticeably sweet as you said. So I think it's pretty silly to act like op meant "drink with a lot of salt that isn't a primary flavor" rather than "salty drink like how fries are a salty food"
by Boganshanelle4 weeks ago
Lol. If you say a drink is salty, everyone is gonna assume it tastes salty. I think it's safe to assume that's what OP was referring to.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Salty is the adjective for tasting like salt, not simply having salt as a component.
by Ok-Skirt58134 weeks ago
Give it to an Ethiopian it will taste salty to them.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Soups are technically a salty drink.
by murrayeldon4 weeks ago
And oceans are soup
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Gose beer is a salty drink. It was popular with us breweries for a minute and it's delicious
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
The Gose beer brewed by microbrewery near where I work, tends to brew it so the salt water is to counteract the sour or tart fruits they brew it with. It's certainly an odd experience, taking a first sip where one of their Gose had Soursop for a sour taste, then the second sip, the salt water kicks in that seems to counter the sourness.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I lick myself after I get out of the ocean.
by Tall-Marketing24044 weeks ago
You're also licking off all the pee and fecal matter of all the sea creatures whose home you swam in
by Dry_Associate4 weeks ago
You don't have to explain why he does it; we all already know.
by ambrosejast4 weeks ago
First of all, I'm a she and second that's not at all why I do it
by Tall-Marketing24044 weeks ago
Maybe not all, but you can't deny it and expect us to believe that it's not at least partially why you do it.
by ambrosejast4 weeks ago
I literally don't do it for that reason!
by Tall-Marketing24044 weeks ago
You don't have to be embarrassed, that's why I do it too
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Balkans and the middle east has salty drink. Try Ayran.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Mexicans love adding Tajin and or beer salt to their beers. Or any drinks at that
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
You, just you don't drink salty drinks. There's a billion people in India having buttermilk (salty af) almost every day. Sometimes twice or thrice a day.
by Intrepid-Tangerine4 weeks ago
Also masala lemon soda, coke with salt is pretty bomb actually.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Hong Kong has Salty lemon and I've recently bought salty lychee drink. They are awesome.
by Specific_Ad54164 weeks ago
I drink nothing but the freshest sea water every day
by Charming-Hotel4 weeks ago
I eat salty Popsicles at work, they have electrolytes :)
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
You've clearly never caught me guzzling from the pickle jar in front of an open fridge door at 1 am.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Gatorade is literally a salty drink.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
the amount of sodium a salt in soda is ridiculous, so I beg to differ.
by DifferentWar78744 weeks ago
A can of regular Coca Cola has 2% of your daily sodium which seems very negligible.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I mean most zero calorie drinks are flavored with various salts.
by South_Band92594 weeks ago
Speak for yourself. I love to sip the brine from a can of palm hearts.
by Several_Visual53134 weeks ago
Starbucks use to have a salted caramel mocha that was amazing. I've bought maybe 5 Starbucks drinks since they got rid of it years ago. If they brought it back I'd be there at least 3 times a week.
by xmarks4 weeks ago
My margaritas would say otherwise
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I think the east and middle east have more "savory" drinks than sweet. Western culture or maybe specifically US loves sugar drinks.
by aiden474 weeks ago
Tequila shots and margaritas
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
A mug of hot chicken broth is great when it's chili out
by Icy-Upstairs4 weeks ago
There's a Vietnamese drink I only know by the English name called Salted Lemon Soda. It's really good, reminds me of salty Mexican candy powder Limon 7 in liquid form
by Dzemlak4 weeks ago
Anything with electrolytes has not just salt (sodium chloride) but also potassium chloride (another salt). The ton of sugar is to balance out the salty taste. People put a bit of salt in tea too. Any drink you want to enhance the flavor a bit can get salt if not carbonated.
by leonardoberge4 weeks ago
I drink chicken bouillon with some extra spices. So good. Also miso soup is delicious drink
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
That's not what she said
by Salt_Increase4 weeks ago
Humans Americans rarely drink salty drinks.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
No, we do, our sodas are loaded down with sugar and sodium
by Sad-Ebb-21494 weeks ago
I also wouldn't drink something sour or bitter either It's the reason I don't drink my coffee black
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
No Lemonade?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Eh, it depends. If it's freshed squeezed and has way too much sugar, than maybe But I tend to prefer it mixed with tea
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Really living on the edge
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
How about pickle juice?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
You mean electrolytes?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
perfectly balanced... as all things should be
by Botsfordcharlot4 weeks ago
I love me some Doogh!
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
You forgot about dirty dirty martinis with lots of olives and all those weird shrimp sodas from Asia
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I used to make shirley temples with salted sparkling rosé with calamansi, nectarine, and balsamic syrup. The salt added a nice pop to cut through, and balsamic reduction is good on everything.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I occasionally make a big ole cup of broth. Mainly in the winter, but I'll often throw together some Better Than Bouillon, chile flakes, black pepper, soy sauce and ginger into a mug then fill it with boiling water from a kettle, wait ten minutes, and sip in savory, salty goodness for a while.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I mean ain't Gatorade and electrolytes salt?
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Gatorade is salty as hell
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
In many parts of asia salty yogurt drinks are pretty common
by Margarettjacobi4 weeks ago
What is soup to you then
by Bernierorval4 weeks ago
When I was doing keto I'd drink LMNT, I think it was called? It was a salty electrolyte drink with no sweetener, real or artificial. Actually pretty good!
by Recent-Pain4 weeks ago
And some people are salty bitches.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
my mom likes those V8 vegetable drinks but they taste overly salty to me. like cold salty tomato soup.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Salt Lassi is a thing
by Spiritual_Promise8364 weeks ago
I love drinking yogurt mixed with water and salt. It's called Laban in my country and extremely popular drink sold in supermarkets, and served in restaurants.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Salty drinks? Ya, because salt in drinks is nasty as hell
by Allie544 weeks ago
[The tears of OP sobbing after being proven wrong were plenty savory]
by kylergislason4 weeks ago
I see you haven't been to many raves.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Bone broth on the way in to work. Start the day off with a steamy cup of dead animalwater. (I actually do this)
by Perryorn4 weeks ago
Dirty margs and pickle backs would beg to differ.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Literally all energy drinks: ._.
by Asia994 weeks ago
Just thinking about makes me want to gag and now I'm wondering if it's evolution.
by Ola944 weeks ago
Vietnamese salt coffee is game changing.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
There's a drink in SE Asia called pocari sweat - little salty, little sugary, perfect hangover cure
by Noah284 weeks ago
I love drinking LMNT. 1 gram of sodium per packet
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
There is a ton of sodium in most soft drinks
by Sad-Ebb-21494 weeks ago
I vaguely remember one time as a kid I tried putting a bunch of salt in a glass of water, shouldn't have tasted good Why? Cause I was autistic
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I used to know someone that put salt in their coffee.
by Real_Possession4 weeks ago
When it comes to salty drinks, I think of cocktails with salt rims on the glass like Margarita, La Batanga, Salty Dog... Are these drinks considered salty drinks?
by CandidateSwimming9134 weeks ago
Ayran is a salty yoghurt drink popular around where I live. I think it has türkish roots.
by nickolasbergstr4 weeks ago
False. Salt is a layman's term for electrolyte, of which there are seven different ones that are commonly found in many drinks, especially sports drinks like Gatorade
by Traditional_Swan18694 weeks ago
I had a salty lasse at an indian restaurant once. it was confusing.
by elsa764 weeks ago
I went to an indian restaurant and had a salty fermented spiced drink. It wasn't to my taste
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
You suuuure about that one mate literally every soda has Sodium aka salt; which qualifies to make it a salty drink Same goes for Gatorade Powerade whatever else iced tea etc etc most flavoured drinks have sodium aka salt and don't get me started on red bull monster etc
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Maybe if you'd ask her nicely she would.
by Party-Candidate-79984 weeks ago
Soda has a ton of salt in it.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
That's not correct. People drink salty drinks and like them. For example tomato juice is rather salty and it's one of the most popular drinks people choose on flights. Many popular table mineral water brands have got salty taste. In many cultures salty drinks are widespread. For example ayran is popular drink in Turkey, Caucasus, Central Asia. I drank a white wine in Italy with salty taste and it's really nice one. And I will open one more secret. Companies add salt to beverages like Coke or Pepsi.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
The porn industry disagrees with you.
by holdenbartell4 weeks ago
I think you meant to say "Anglo folks" rather than humans. Salty drinks are very common in Central Asia, parts of Southeast Asia, and the Balkans.
by Cornelius834 weeks ago
I do. I sometimes just put salt in my water.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
Soda is actually pretty salty.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
That reminds me. I got a Michelada calling.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
I tried this afghan yogurt drink it was the saltiest thing I ever had I wanted to die. Don't know how anyone drinks it.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
😜👍Awesome soup in a drink can. But kept in an Eskimo fridge. This is going to be huge.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
True. Can only think of a bloody mary/Caesar.
by HungryJuggernaut78414 weeks ago
Mexican beer with lots of lime and salt over ice. More chilisalt on rim.
by Anonymous4 weeks ago
On the contrary, Margaritas and Salty Dogs.
by Front-Meringue4 weeks ago
