+28 Airlines should charge for carry-on instead of checked bags, amirite?

by joanie18 1 week ago

Checking luggage cost the airline money first of all you need rappers and baggage handlers load and unload them. They cost money. Secondly, the weight of a bag that is checked, counts against the total weight of the aircraft as opposed to a carry-on, which does not That which means more bags that are taken on the plane leaves more weight to add cargo and make more money

"and now it's easy enough to track your bag" Haaahaha!

? it is. there's literally an app on your phone where you take a picture of the barcode and then it tells you when it's processed, when it's loaded on to the plane, when it's taken off the plane and you can track it every step along the way across a multileg journey. what problems are you having?

Do you consider not recovering your baggage until the end of your trip a problem?

by Entire-Leg-4033 1 week ago

no, that's why i checked it. the only thing I carry on is a small little bag with the things i might need immediately. I always see people on the place with like 2 large cases, that are at the maximum carryon limit. if you have a baby, sure, I get it, you need all the baby diaper things. ok. but for most people, just check it and forget it and then pick it up at your destination.

I don't think you've ever had your bags lost.

by Entire-Leg-4033 1 week ago

Yeah, I have. It happened once, they just express mailed it to my location in a day or two. Mild inconvenience.

Whenever I've lost luggage they've either express mailed it to my house or delivered to my front door / hotel. It never took more than 2-3 days, even when it was lost in Germany and sent back to me in the US. Not a problem because I bring 1-2 days of necessities, medication, keys, etc. in my carry on, which fits under the seat.

Nice, it's just part of travel. Did you file for a reimbursement?

by KindlyInvite7610 1 week ago

Reimbursement for what? It was a minor inconvenience and I didn't lose any money.

by Abauch 1 week ago
