Most restaurants are not worth the price, amirite?

Yeah, I feel like the market has spoken on this one.

yes don't get me wrong I also want local businesses to make money as long as the service is fair

You have an option on what you define as fair and to give your money only to businesses that you think are offering what you consider as fair.

If that were true, they would be losing business and had to lower prices. But you don't see evidence of that do you

People say the same thing about crack

Or they have taste buds like my dad, who thinks a fish fry counts as ethnic food.

When you're poor, no it's not. When you're wealthy, well, it's still not but you don't mind as much. It's the experience you're paying for, not the food.

You may be right. But a lot of people also don't value their time. Yes, I can make a cheaper meal for myself than $14 for a fast causal dinner. Even if I'm a wizard and can make a comparably tasty and satisfying meal for $3 worth of ingredients... is it really the worst thing to "pay" $11 for 90 minutes of my life not spent cooking and/or doing dishes?

Good grief, where are you? I live in a relatively small city in CA and there's plenty of food that's worth the price. Mind you, we do have our fair share of overpriced, over hyped places where the "ambiance" is fancy or ever so carefully casual, they charge out the wazoo, and the food is mid. I simply don't go to those places.

At home cooking became a must, which I absolutely hate.

Ive seen take a few times. Im a foodie so love my restaurants. However i live in a city and dont go to chains. Im sure applebees and mcdonalds suck, but award winning places are super worth it to me. I cant take seriously any portion size complaints in the US as the are ginormous and the biggest in the world
