Why hello there.
I love music and art, my interests include drawing, painting, and writing. I am also teaching myself to play the drums and harmonica, I used to play the piano, after my teacher moved I have become a little rusty, but hope to pick it up again soon.
My favorite music is classic rock, but I'll pretty much listen to anything but techno. I also like rock and blues, alternative, country, and most anything underground.
My favorite bands/artists include the BEATLES, Cake, Taylor Swift, Capra, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Kings of Leon, and Weezer.
I also enjoy skiing, hiking, and golf. I study in the IB program and my favorite subjects are english, art, history, and science (though I'm not that good at the latter).
My favorite artists are Monet, Peter Max, Leonardo DaVinci, and I enjoy learning about modern artists through ads and local shows.

I wish you the most exciting, wonderful, beneficial, loving, delightful, entertaining, jaunty, great, fabulous, gleeful, pleasant, bright, and cheery, merry Christmas ever. <3(:

Oh sweet. :D Do you know what university he went to? LOL GPA whore, I like that. Everyone I knew for the last few years was exactly that. What are you struggling in? If you ARE going to drop two courses or IB, I suggest doing it before senior year. Hahaha, IBs would DOMINATE that if it was a sport, honestly.

Right now I'm doing something called Life Sciences, which is like human biology, chem, psych, math, etc. :P I'm trying to work my way into being accepted for neuroscience as a major. :)

Awesome! My psych exam WAS pretty kick ass, I read the whole textbook yesterday and pretty much nailed it on the head. There's one thing IB helps with, perfecting procrastination. :P Well there you go, 2 ex-IB kids telling you it's not worth it! If you're gonna drop some courses, you might as well just drop IB altogether, because all you want is a good average. Non-IB will do that for you, so just scrap it altogether if you were gonna drop some courses anyway.

Graduated from where? By Ontario, I mean the province in Canada

Well, I hope your biology exam went okay, IB biology wasn't too bad, I actually quite enjoyed it. :D Umm, to be honest, IB was okay but in the long run, it's really not worth it. I don't know about where you are, but they fed us all this bullshit about how we'll be better prepared for university, etc. etc. but that's not true. I'm not any better than the "normal" non-IB kids, so I don't think IB is really worth it. Besides, a lot of my friends didn't even get their diplomas, regardless of the fact that they were BRILLIANT.

I'm at university in Ontario right now. :) Feel free to fire any questions at me, I'd be happy to help. :P

Oh by the way, I see you're in IB. I just graduated from it last year, what year are you in and how are you liking it?

I know! It angers me sometimes...but they're my friends and I love them. Also: bad memories associated with Replay. My friend made me listen to it like a million times when we were over at her house and I had nightmares.

Thanks. I have the most "eclectic" tastes of any of my friends, mostly because I don't like Justin Beiber.

Wizard rockers, like the Remus Lupins and the Parselmouths. I listen to a lot of Broadway and classic rock too. I love Queen. Um...that's about it.

:) Paperback Writer, Honey Pie, and Lady Madonna. You?

that was awkward. I like the Beatles as well.

Does a farmer's sun burn count?

GypsyJones commented on post #650555

That's true. I guess it kind of also varies with where you live, your age, etc. I have a friend who was born in Africa and her name is Yaa, that's a strange name here, but a common one from where she was born. And I don't know anyone else with my last name in America, but it's a really, really common name in Ireland.

OK, I just read an article titles something like "January Jones' Strange Baby Name," and the name she picked was Xander. I thought about it, and it didn't seem so weird, I know two Xanders. With Celebrity baby names like Apple and Blanket I was prepared to see a name like "Slagathor" in the article.

That's me! :D I actually had a nightmare once that I was taking a test and halfway through lost my pencil. You know you're a nerd if...

GypsyJones commented on post #462807

Huh, I didn't of that, maybe I should look where my sister worked.

GypsyJones commented on post #462807

Hahaha! Lucky! No one in my town is hiring, and if they are, they're more likely giving the job to an adult who needs it and not a kid looking to work part time :/

GypsyJones commented on post #462807

I know!!! Most of the time I would just rather not do the thing that costs money than ask them for the money to do it.

WOAH!!! :O I promise I've never heard of this guy before! This was when I was staying in a hotel in New York. Mind BLOWN! haha

@1272721 (Anonymous): Yuppers! And at my school, you're graded on how many "TOK Moments," you have outside of class, you get into the habit of shouting out this statement.... it's the IB Nerd's tourette's. Sorry for the bad spelling.

GypsyJones commented on post #598696

TOK moment!!!! Sorry, I know that sounds obscure, but I had to do it, if you know what the IB program is, you'll understand.

@1271528 (polarthebear): I actually had to read an article for my Theory of Knowledge class on this that was printed during his election.
