I'm a college student. I know a lot about computers and electricity because I'm a computer and electrical engineering student. I got a POTD: http://amirite.net/583169 . It's weird because I have six posts that scored higher, but most aren't POTD material. Here are some things you'll see on a lot of people's profiles:

Some quotes I love:

"Bullshit is the glue that binds us as a nation." -- George Carlin.

"Do well and you will have no need for ancestors." -- Voltaire

"Science literacy is vaccine against charlatans of the world that would exploit your ignorance of the forces of nature." -- Neil DeGrasse Tyson

Here is an exhaustive list of my favorite users:

You will not be added to that list.

If you need help in math, programming, electrical stuff, or possibly chemistry or physics, ask me. I've helped people out with that stuff before. I might ctrlv.in a solution to a similar problem or give an explanation. However, I strongly recommend using khanacademy.org for math and science help.

Also, to clarify some things:
- Despite my vehement support of the gay rights movement, I'm not gay.
- Despite my excessive use of the word "faggot," I'm not homophobic.
- I'm not sexist, but I don't like the term "feminist." I prefer the term "equalist." I'll give credit where credit is due: http://amirite.net/309785

Because so many users are high school students looking into college, I have some pieces of advice for ya (warning: might sound condescending):
- You're not too good for community college. Community college offers the same courses and they're as hard as university courses. Also, it's cheaper and you typically don't have to deal with a roommate. However, make sure you know what university you want to go to before you jump into community college. Also, the advisors suck (at least at the one I went to.) Also, make sure the classes transfer to your university.
- You are, however, too good for "universities" such as DeVry, University of Phoenix, ITT Tech, etc. You're not going to get a job after going to these colleges. If you see a commercial for it on G4, don't go there.
- The AP program is awesome. Take AP classes.
- If you don't want to do college, try a technical college. It'll get you a good job without wasting nearly as much money.

Another thing: I live in Oklahoma. Everything you hear about us is 100% fact. Everybody here is stupid, just like the TV tells ya. Including me. Everybody here lives in a trailer. In fact, Tulsa is just a giant parking garage for trailers. Also, we have tornadoes. Smart move. Everybody lives in a trailer, which gets eaten by tornadoes. Also, none of us have our teeth. We needed that for tooth fairy money so that we could buy our trailers. Also, it is impossible to find a truck that isn't covered in NASCAR and Bush/Cheney '04 stickers. In fact, it's the law that every truck has one. I'm in deep shit for owning a compact car and not liking NASCAR. Wait, how I'm I typing this again? There's no electricity in this state because it's all being used to make methamphetamine.

But seriously, there is a church on every street corner in the big cities in Oklahoma and a church in every small town. Also, I really don't have all my teeth.

If you want to talk or ask a question, don't be shy. Put words on my wall.

We say it when we find something hard to believe.

Sounds to me like they need to make more schools. It's becoming somewhat of a problem in the Tulsa area.

eldorito commented on post #697331

Well, my public school had over 1000 graduating seniors in 2009 and it was decent, but I could see schools becoming overpopulated.

However, here's my hypothesis: The schools use money from vouchers to hire more teachers anf build more buildings. Some might bee exclusive and a few are religious.

eldorito commented on post #697331

I don't know.

eldorito commented on post #697331

Better schools.get more funding.

eldorito commented on post #697331

Basically, you get one voucher per child. Rather than sending your children to a school based on where you live, you send your children to whatever school you want to. Therefore, competition drives success without it being a burden on the customer's wallet.

eldorito commented on post #697331

Not necessarily. I've been to a bad private school. This was a school where everybody in middle school learned the same stuff in English. After that, I went to a public school and the public school students were being challenged more than private school students. However, I do believe that we should do what they do in Belgium and have a voucher system.

eldorito commented on post #697331

Without government regulations, public education would suck and the air and water would be polluted beyond reason.

eldorito commented on post #697331

I don't. That would prevent wealthy people from paying in. Also, you could probably start paying in at any time.

eldorito commented on post #697331

You pay in, the government gives back.
